Show Air pollution conference planned in SLC A number of Springville people, peo-ple, especially those of Federated Feder-ated Women's Clubs, are expected ex-pected to be interested in the Air Pollution Conference for women, at the University of Utah Union Buliding, Salt Lake City, Friday, February 7, announces an-nounces Mrs. Wendell Winger, president of UFWC. Mrs. Winger will give greetings greet-ings folio wing registration, which begins at 9 a.m. There will be a ladies trio, followed by a symposium Dr. S. Eugene Dalton of Provo, formerly of Springville, will be one of the speakers at this time. Such subjects as, "What Are the Effects Ef-fects of Air Pollution?", "What is Utah's Problem?" "What is Air Pollution?" will be taken up at this time. Mrs. Mary Schwartz of Springville, state conservation chairman, UFWC, will take part in a panel discussion at 11:45 a.m. This will follow a forum discussion at 10:45 a.m. The Air Pollution Conference :s being sponsored by the Air Conservation Committee, State of Utah; Central District UFWC; UF-WC; Salt Lake Council of Women; Wo-men; Salt Lake District of UFWC; UFWC; Utah League of Women Voters; Utah Tuberculosis Tu-berculosis and Health Assn.; Women's Programs, Div. of Continuing Education; University Univer-sity of Utah and Utah State Legislative Council. Co-sponoring the program is the magazine, "Country Beautiful," Beau-tiful," which is offering prizes to the federated clubs sponsoring sponsor-ing community programs. The awards are to be broken into popu lation categories. The state winner will receive a $50 prize. In view of the fact that some sicknesses are the result directly direct-ly or indirectly of air air pollution, pol-lution, it is believed to be a worthwhile program, sponsors state. Further details on the conference and the locally planned plan-ned program, will be announced next week. |
