Show any dog- shall cause to be attached at-tached to such dog's collar required re-quired by Section 6-3-15, City Code of Springville, Utah, 1968, a rabies vaccination tag for such dog. Whenever a dog bites a person per-son so as to cause an abrasion of the skin, any person having knowledge of that fact shall immediately notify a member of the Police Department who shall have the dog impounded and quarantined for a period of two weeks. The dog shall be examined immediately after it has bitten anyone and again at the end of the two-week period. per-iod. If at the end of two weeks a veterinarian is convinced that the dog is then free from rabies, ra-bies, the dog shall be released from quarantine or from the pound as the case may be. If the dog dies in the meanwhile, its head shall be sent to the State Department of Health for examination for rabies. Section 6-3-13, City Code of Springville, Utah, 1968, entitled "Registration "Registra-tion of Dogs" is amended tc read as follows: 6-3-13 REGISTRATION OF DOGS. It shall be unlawful for any person to own, keep, or harbor a dog over the age of six months within the limits of this City without making application ap-plication to the City Recorder for that purpose and rjavine- to County, or to fail, refuse, or neglect to allow, or to in any way prevent, such a dog from being impounded or quarantined. quarantin-ed. SECTION 4. Section 6-3-29, City Code of Springville, Utah, 1968, entitled "Penalty" is amended am-ended to read as follows: 6-3-29 PENALTY. Any person per-son violating any of the provisions pro-visions of this Ordinance, whether by act of commission or act of omission, shall, upon conviction, thereof, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine in any sum less than three hundred hund-red dollars or by imprisonment not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and Imprisonment. The registrant shall state at the time application is made the owner's name and address and the sex, breed and color of the dog for wheih such application applica-tion is made. The registrant shall also present a certificate from a licensed veterinarian stating that the dog has been vaccinated for the prevention of rabies, and such certificate must give the last date of vaccination vac-cination and the number of the vaccination tag issued by the veterinarian at the time of vaccination. It shall be the duty of the City Recorder to register any dog on application of the owner own-er or keeper, and to issue a registration receipt and metallic me-tallic registration tag on payment pay-ment by the owner or keeper to the City Treasurer of the annual registration fee. This Ordinance shall take effect on January 1, 1969. The Springville City Council Coun-cil hereby orders and directs that this Ordinance be published publish-ed in the Springville Herald, a newspaper published in Springville, Spring-ville, Utah, in the December 26, 1968, issue thereof, and declares that it is necessary for the preservation of the peace, health, and safety of this municipality muni-cipality that this Ordinance take effect on January 1, 1969. Section 6-3-14, City Code of Springville, Utah, 1968, entitled "Annual Registration Regis-tration Fee" is amended to read as follows: 6-3-14 ANNUAL REGISTRATION REGIS-TRATION FEE. The annual fee for registering any dog, male, female or spayed, shall be six dollars, except if a dog is registered between the first day of January and the first day of March of any year, or within sixty days after the dog attains six months of age or is brought into the City or is acquired by the person owning, keeping or harboring the same, the registration fee for such dog shall be three dollars. SECTION 3. Section 6-3-19, City Code of Springville, Utah, 1968. entitled "Dog Bites" is amended to read as follows: 6-3-19 RABIES VACCINATION VACCINA-TION REQUIRED.
