Show James C. Olsen, former resident resi-dent of Springville who died Wednesday of a short illness. Funeral services at Scipio for former resident ' James C. Olsen, 84, father of Mrs. Newell Webb of Springville and a former resident res-ident of this city, died Wednesday Wednes-day morning, March 20, 1968, at Payson Hospital of a short illness. He was born at Scipio, April 30, 1883, a son of John Peter and Johannah Marie Johnson Olsen. His wife, Ruth Shear-smith, Shear-smith, whom he married April I 29, 1915, in the Salt Lake Temple, Tem-ple, died in 1944. He filled on LDS mission in the Central States, served as a bishop counselor at Scipio and was a high priest at the time of death. He was a garage owner and mail carrier at Scipio and served ser-ved as town councilman. He lived in Springville several years and worked for Springville Spring-ville City and at Geneva Steel. Surviving are six sons and daughters: Mrs. Mell (Phyllis) Quarnberg and Mrs. Claud (Hilda) Quarnberg, Scipio; Mrs. Charles H. (Joy) Dewey, Grantsville; Mrs. Newell (Dorothy) (Dor-othy) Webb, Springville; Jay Clive Olsen, Salt Lake City; Donald B. Olsen, Nephi; 27 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; grand-children; one brother and three sisters. Funeral services will be Saturday Sat-urday at Scipio with burial in that city. |
