Show Big game board holds meet invites students Utah's Board of Fish and Game held a meeting Saturday, Satur-day, October 14 at Utah State University in Logan to show wildlife management students how the Fish and Game Board functions and allow these students stu-dents to see the board in action as they went through a regular agenda of items. The board accepted the invitation invi-tation of the University so that these future resource managers will have first hand knowledge of how this policymaking policy-making board operates and the many duties they perform such as setting seasons, approving major purchases and maintaining maintain-ing a close contact with the financial operations of the Division. At the Logan meeting the board approved three new posted post-ed hunting units for the upcoming up-coming pheasant season, approved ap-proved a livestock grazing bid on Division land in Daggett County and reviewed informational informa-tional items on the treatment of Minersville Reservoir and the small mouth bass introduction introduc-tion in Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Reser-voir. The Divisions financial standing and budget operating report were also reviewed with the board. In other action the board approved ap-proved a right-of-way to the Highway Department on Division Divis-ion property in Salt Lake County and approved a lease to the Great Salt Lake Minerals Min-erals and Chemical Corporation in the lower Bear River area of the Great Salt Lake for mineral miner-al extraction operations. |
