Show Demonstration agent speaks at club An interesting meeting of the Ladies Literary Club was held Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Berton Groesbeck. President Belva Edwards conducted con-ducted a short business, followed fol-lowed by a talk by Mrs. Emily Tyler, county demonstration agent, who discussed "When a Woman Shops". She was introduced in-troduced by Mrs. E. T. Cran-dall. Cran-dall. The speaker compared the experience of shopping today with that of years past and said an average super-market now has some 8000 food items from which to choose. She said that psychologists are employed employ-ed to study why, when and what shoppers buy. Many purchases pur-chases are made on impulse only, she said regardless of need or cost. Mrs. Tyler was accompanied by two BYU students. Lunch was served early by the hostess to club members and guests ,the later including Mrs. Arthur Finley, Mrs. Milton Mil-ton Harrison, May Finley, and Mrs. Milan Packard. Next club will be Tuesday, October 31, at the home of Clara Sumsion. |
