Show Cornell Clyde named president of Utah contractors' association W. Cornell Clyde, president of W. W. Clyde Construction Company, was installed as ' president of the Utah Chapter Associated General Contractors, Saturday night in Salt Lake City. He will serve as president of the contractors for a 1-year term. In assuming the new duties, Mr. Clyde became the 46th president of the association. Also elected as a member of the board of directors for a two-year term was J. Grant Richins, contractor for Strong Company. The annual winter convention of the contractors was the 45th and was held in the Hotel Utah. Official assignments were taken by the various newly elected officers and board members. mem-bers. The two-day .convention featured discussions on the outlook out-look of the construction business. bus-iness. In addition, the activities ' included presentations of the awards, the annual report and passing of resolutions. The AGC in Utah is comprised of some 325 firms. The members of the association do the major part of the commercial building and highway work throughout the state, and is recognized as the spokesmen for the construction construc-tion industry of the state. The newly elected president served as vice president of the association during the past year. His father, W. W. Clyde, served as president in 1939.
