Show Men from Guard complete active training Army Pvt. John S. Curtis, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack J. Curtis, 170 S. 1300 E., and Pvt. Shirl T. Jackman, son of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Jack-man, Jack-man, 258 Brookside, Springville, completed advanced training as combat engineers under the Reserve Re-serve Enlistment program at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., July 7. During their eight weeks of training, , they received instruction in-struction in combat squad tactics, tac-tics, use of infantry weapons, and engineer reconnaissance. They also trained in the techniques of road and bridge building, camouflage, and demolitions. dem-olitions. Upon completing the period of active duty, they returned to the 116th Engineer Company, Com-pany, an Army National Guard unit in Springville. |
