Show Kebo District initiates program kiqned to improve education i prov, ded with a vice-principal on a one-half day basis. It was ' father proposed that six of the twenty-one elementary : schools evaluate a program in which two schools would com-i com-i bine the supervisory-adminis-tartive program. Rather than having two half-time principals, princi-pals, as formerly was the case the plan called for one supervising super-vising principal and one half-time half-time assistant principal for two schools. In the interest of providing pro-viding the best possible educational educa-tional program for boys and girls, the board adopted the program and authorized it with the provision that the program be carefully evaluated for a period of one year. As its goal the plan declared immediate objectives to be those of an evaluation of the curriculum and a striving for the correlation of and articulation articu-lation in instructional pro- ,.ving that a key person Movement of an edu- program to be the , of the school, Nebo rinCif District will inauguarte ;;iW!nm designed to give the ipr0d'l time to function as :'tcational leader stated 1, u Stansfield, superm- A studv conducted by le" trict staff, assisted by tcondary principals, indi-j indi-j that principals were so , iUi administrative and Dfrsonnel problems, they or no opportunity to , t the important task of !: ;r the instructional - -"proU fnr the students of "! 1 schools. It was further proposed that an evaluation be made of present teacher planning plan-ning in the presentation of subject sub-ject matter. The full utilization utiliza-tion of the newly created Instructional In-structional Materials Center was included as a necessary goal. Six teachers, princi- pals and supervisors have been working toward improved methods me-thods of planning which will , enable teachers to present subject sub-ject matter to the students in a more efficient and effective manner. Seven other teachers, clerks and Neighborhood Youth Corps workers, have been working to enable teachers to have full use of the Instructional Instruc-tional Materials Center. It is with enthusiastic anticipation that these people look forward to the opening of school on coordination of student activities activ-ities and student government. It is believed that the training train-ing received by the vice principal prin-cipal will be an excellent training train-ing experience and therefore aid in the selection of future principals. To assist in this Other teachers have been reassigned re-assigned at various schools at their own request. In a very few cases, some teachers were asked to change assignments in order to strengthen the total educational program offered in the district. The board of education edu-cation along with the superintendent superin-tendent have the moral obligation obliga-tion to provide the best total educational program in the district dis-trict possible. While they try to consider preference of individuals, in-dividuals, it is sometimes necessary neces-sary to inconvenience an individual' indi-vidual' teacher for the good of boys and girls. The superintendent superin-tendent and board of education believe that no parent, teacher, nor student would want the desire de-sire or convenience of an individual in-dividual to be considered of greater importance than the welfare and educational opportunity oppor-tunity of one single child. Improve program The principals, vice principals, princi-pals, and trainees have pledged their time, effort, and talents to continually strive for an improved im-proved educational program in Nebo School District. It is their belief that the program adopted adopt-ed by the board of education is vital to the improvement of educational opportunities for the students of Nebo School District. The program has been successfully suc-cessfully launched this summer.
