Show : coppEitViELD : Jeanne Sanchez, Phone 465 e Jeanne Sanchez was Tuesday overnight guest of Pat Nielsmi of Bingham. Alfred Sanchez and daughters, Jessie, Madeleine and Julie Ann, spent Tuesday at Saratoga. The summer band recital held last Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in the school auditorium turned out to be a great success. First on the program was a clarinet clar-inet solo "Humoresque" by Joan Hiyama followed by "You, You, You" on the trumpet played by Michael Mannos. Next came "America", a clarinet duet by the Turner sisters, Velma and Delia, after which Janice Gohsh played "Heart of My Heart" .and "Hear" on the saxophone. Fallowing Fal-lowing these numbers Jeanne Hicks, daughter of Lowell Hicks, band director, gave a very entertaining en-tertaining skit which was enjoy- j ed by all. A saxophone solo by Martha Miya followed as did a number "Apache Dance" played by the entire band. Bringing the recital to a climax were two saxophone solos "Three Coins in ! the Fountain" and "I Get So Lonely" which were played by Sherman Miller. Members of the band are: saxophones Sherman Miller, Martha Miya, Janice Go-lish; Go-lish; trumpet Michael Mannos; Clarinets Velma and Delia Turner, Joan Hiyama; drums Barbara Hiyama and Madeleine Sanchez with Lowell Hicks at ; the piano. Dickie Kubota returned home. Sunday after spending two and a half months in Ogden with relatives. re-latives. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Yamada and family are now making their new home in Salt Lake City. J. B. Archuleta and daughters, Lillian and Floraida, are spending spend-ing this week in New Mexico where they are attending the funeral of a relative. Benny Kubota is expected home July 29th. Ciarold Burke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Burke, left Mon- j day evening for San Diego, Calif, w her e he will undergo naval i training. O |
