Show Churches in Japan discussed by club The history of churches in Japan was reviewed for members mem-bers of the Fiets Bien Club Thursday evening last week when Mrs. Jack Windley was hostess. Mrs. Norley Hall gave the topic and supplementing her remarks, her mother, Mrs. Ray Gull and Mr. Gull of Provo, who recently made a trip around the world, showed interesting in-teresting colored slides of places pla-ces of worship and other scenes in Japan, and told of their experiences ex-periences in that country. Mrs. Ralph Snelsun, president presi-dent of the club, presided and asked Mrs. Kenneth Metcalf to read the club collect. Next meeting was announced for November 19, to be at the home of Mrs. Ralph Jacobsen. At the close of the program, the hostess served refreshments. refresh-ments. A3C James R. Shepherd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Shepherd Shep-herd of this city has been home on a furlough from Lincoln AFB, Nebr., where he has just finished training for a 5th level lev-el plumber. He was accompanied accompan-ied home by a friend, Jerry .Austin, originally from Pennsylvania, Penn-sylvania, who had his first trip to Utah. He was recently converted con-verted to the LDS Church and the Shepherds took him on several sev-eral sight-seeing trips in the area. A3C Shepherd, who recently re-cently filled an LDS Mission in the Central States, reported that he is back in the same area ar-ea serving in the Air Force and is continuing with missionary work being supervisor of the I deacons quorum and a teacher in MIA. v |
