Mnay local merchants mer-chants and business persons have and will continue to do so. The Iron County Record recently diversified and has started a commercial job printing department called Record Printing. The Record was fortunate to hire a person that has many years of experience in printing. Darrell Blaisdell moved, with his family, to Cedar City in January of this year and has been working at the Record since July. Blaisdell started in the printing business at the age of 13. After several years of training by some old printing craftsmen he served 4V2 years in the U.S. Navy as a lithographer. After his discharge from the service, he worked lor ten years at a large printing plant in Los Angeles specializing in four-color process printing, lie has also owned his own letterpress job shop, specializing in letterheads, envelopes, business cards and announcements. For all of lilHl Blaisdell worked as a supervisor at a plant specializing in menus and general commercial com-mercial printing. During this same period of time, along with his brother, he successfully ran a trade film assembly business. He taught printing at a private trade school for a short period of time. |
