Show Few running in election for the seat being vacated by Commissioner Com-missioner Howard Knight who has also declined to seek another term. Going after the Iron County attorney seat are incumbent James L. Shumate, Scott Thorley and Dale Hatch, all Republicans and all from Cedar City. Shumate is only one of two incumbents being contested. County Clerk Clair Hulet, Republican from Parowan, is the other officeholder office-holder with competition this summer, this time in the form of David Yardley, also a Republican, and also from Parowan. Sheriff Ira Schoppmann, Assessor G. Steven Grimshaw, Recorder Cora Hulet, Treasurer LaMar Jensen and Auditor Dennis Lowder will all run unopposed on the Republican ticket. PAROWAN The 1982 general election in Iron County doesn't promise to be an exciting one, with only one race having candidates from two parties filed as of the filing deadline Monday. In the one race where there will be a two-party ballot, Lou Tong, Republican, will seek the four-year County Commission seat being vacated by James L. Clark, who has decided not to seek another term. He will be opposed op-posed by Democrats Wesley Blake of Parowan and Rodney Decker of Cedar Since the two, the only ones running on the Democratic ticket, filed for the same office, it will be necessary lor the Democrats to conduct a convention this summer.
