Show Evelyn Davenport EVELYN MCBRIDE DAVENPORT, 87, died Jan. 11, 1981, in a Cedar City hospital. She was born Jan. 11, 1894, in Paragonah to William Albert and Sarah Alice Robinson McBride. She married Lewis Marion Davenport on Aug. 26, 1918, in Paragonah. The marriage was solemnized in the St., George LDS Temple in May of 1922. Evelyn attended school in Paragonah, college at B.N.S. in Cedar City, the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and Brigham Young University in Provo. She was a homemaker and an active member of the LDS Church, serving as teacher, president of the Y. W.M.I. A., secretary of the Primary and counselor in the Relief Society. She taught school in Junction, Utah, in 1918 and 1919 while her husband was serving in the army. She is survived by her ,Jiuband of Paragonah and one son and ' four daughters, Mrs. Alma (Norma) Topham, Mrs. Kay (Eva Lou) Lamoreaux and Douglas M. Davenport, all of Paragonah, Mrs. Gordon (Carol) Farnsworth of Parowan and Mrs. Humbert (Marion) Rosenberg of Cedar City. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; 38 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Lee (Lillis) Spencer of LaVerkin and Mrs. Thelma Wood of Salt Lake City. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Paragonah LDS Ward Chapel.. Interment was in the Paragonah Cembtery under the direction of the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary. |
