Show Johnson accepted into veterinary school i ! Ronald E. Johnson, St. George, Southern Utah State College's outstanding life science student' for 1979-80, has been accepted into veterinary school ' at Colorado State University, Fort Collins. The SUSC honor student will enter the four-year program in September, eventually planning to . practice veterinary medicine in southern Utah. Johnson was named the outstanding life science j student at the recent Thunderbird Awards Assembly. He will graduate . ; from SUSC Friday with high honors, earning a BS in zoology, minor in chemistry. 1"It is indeed an honor for a student to be selected for veterinary school from SUSC," says Darrell H. 1 Matthews, chairman of the SUSC Division of Agriculture. "Only 14 students from Utah were selected for entrance into veterinary schools this year." Johnson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Johnson, 4356 Larson Way, Salt Lake City. He is a 1965 graduate of Olympus High School. He attended the University of Utah and Brigham Young University before settling in St. George as the proprietor of a men's clothing store, which he sold to enroll at SUSC. - The SUSC student is married to Leslie Ann Empey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Lynne Empey, St. George. The Johnson's are parents of three children, Christopher 7, Stacey 5 and Devin 2. |
