Show Ohms wins Horseshoe Contest Dennis R. Ohms of Cedar City won two trophies for horseshoe, pitching at the third Calico Hullabaloo held at Calico Ghost Town in Calif, in late March. His wife, Carol Ann, placed 2nd in the Women's B Division. At the festival which specializes in "pitchin', cookin' and spittin' " , contestants were divided into groups according to their horseshoe pitching ringer percentage. After the dust settle, Oh-mns' Oh-mns' win for first place was clear with six wins and no losses, pitching 39 percent ringers and with an open place in the next division he , also won first place with five wins to one loss and pitching 35 percent ringers. Meanwhile, Carol Ann was pitching in the women's division and after winning three straight games in her group, she played for first place showdown against a California woman in which she lost but left with second place honors. |
