Show City protests County Action Cedar City objected to a resolution passed by the Iron County Commission Com-mission supporting the purchase of CP National's electric utility system in southern Utah by Utah Power and Light. Councilman Harold Shirley said that he would represent the city at Wednesday's commission meting late Monday afternoon. Shirley said that the electrical power question is outside of the commission's jurisdiction and said that their pro-UP&L vote only represents a small minority in the county. Protesting the commission's move to send their xesolution to the Public Service Commission, Shirley said mat they are trying to undermine a recent vote of support by Cedar City residents ' for a municipally owned power system over a system owned and operated by UP&L. Shirley said that the commission's resolution is not supported by the incorporated areas of Cedar City, Parowan, Enoch, Kanarraville, Paragonah or the Parowan and Enterprise Pumper Associations. i |
