'i r? tr. -'-i. r -- iv - I't - ' - - i -.j I WILL SOON PRODUCE POWER; Workmen from UP&L Electric Power Research Institute, Bi -Phase, and De Lavel were busy installing this 1.6 megawatt power plant on Phillips well 54-3 this week. They're shooting for an October startup date. The plant will be tested on 54-3 for two months , and then moved to make room for the 20 megawatt power plant. If testa prove successful, UP&L expects to put one on each well-head to produce power and separate' the steam from the water. Steam will be used in conventional power plants. They can also add a small steam turbine to each bl -phase separator and boost the output to 7-10 megawatts. Crews are also building a 46 KV line to transport the electricity to the grid for sale. |
