Show Council finioEioc buGinooG early With very little business, the Council gave the budget a quick once over and adjourned ad-journed in record time, at 8:30 p.m. It didn't set a record for the shortest meeting, but with meetings now starting at 7:00 p.m. instead of 8;00, it was the earliest adjournment in 11 years of covering the sessions ses-sions by this reporter. With the city's finances now computerized, thecoun- cil gets a quarterly computer com-puter readout, and devoted a 'few minutes to reviewing review-ing it to see how they were prpgressing budgetwise.The only problem area seemed to ! be in the sewer department, depart-ment, which is about $9,000 in the red. However, Mayor Young explained that this does not take into account inventory and wages that have been charged during the first half of the budget year, but will be spread over the whole year. He also related that Fm HA funds had been cut, and the supplemental water grant of $55,000 had been delayed at at least a month. He said they were working on it, and possibly would have to try and make it up through other agencies. The Attorney At-torney General has found a discrepancy in the Community Com-munity Impact Grant of $450,000 and the Mayor Is to meet with the board to straighten it out. A letter from Dr. Symond requested a member of the Council be appointed to the County Health Board.
