Show FaQfS y-tissc dooms are a lot of claims out there that haven't been recorded. To record mines, prospectors pros-pectors must present the BLM with a current assessment asses-sment of the claim to show that it's a working mine. Don't wait until the deadline dead-line date to file - BLM claim recordation is not always al-ways simple. OK, prospectors, you'd better get your gold or silver mine recorded soon or the claim jumpers can get you. If those claims mostly aren't recorded by October 22, the mining claims are considered abandoned and can be claimed by anyone. The Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 required that all claims located lo-cated on public lands before October 21, 1976, be recorded record-ed by October 22, 1979. All claims located after October 21, 1976 must be recorded within 90 days of location. The BLM originally expected ex-pected to receive 100,000 claims. They have now lowered low-ered that estimate to 70,000 but that still means there |
