SSsCv 3 87-2654' - 3 87-2881 Mr. and Mrs. Freckles (Loren) Goltry stopped by the COUNTY NEWS Monday,' for a short visit. Freckles had worked for Red's dad at the Russell Union -Tribune from 1932-35. He retired from the Des Moines Register-Tribune five years ago, and is now living in Russell, Iowa. It was the first time they had seen each other in over twenty -five years. Recently, Mr. and Mrs. Max Baxter spent the day at the State Fair with their brother and sister-in-law, Bernell and Karma Bruno, of Murray. They also had fun at the Largest Garage Sale in the World, at the Salt Palace. Kathryn and James Holm, of Salt Lake City, visited her parents, Fred and Hilda O'Leary, last weekend. Weekend visitors at Bil-lie Bil-lie and Glenn Osborne's were George and VernaMidgleyof Enterprise and Deniece and Harvey Cooke of Los Angeles, An-geles, California. Deniece and Harvey were on their way home after a week in northern Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Tom James and Mrs. andMrs. Glenn Osborne Os-borne were in Cedar on business bus-iness last Wednesday and had dinner at Gerald and Jean-neatte Jean-neatte Stoker's. A very pleasant surprise was seeing Babe and Hazel Ha-zel Ruth of Washington in Milford recently. Billie says she hadn't seen Hazel for over 10 years. They worked work-ed at Jefferson's together for a number of years. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harry Garfield has been their grandson, Steven Garfield, Gar-field, and his daughter, Jennifer, Jen-nifer, of ' Redlands, California. Cal-ifornia. They enjoyed fishing fish-ing on the Minersville Resi-voir Resi-voir while they were here. There's nothing like afire to liven up an otherwise dull day. When the wall board behind our stove caught on fire last Thurs., prompt action ac-tion by our neighbor, Clark Dalton, and the Fire Dept.'s follow-up, averted a possible pos-sible disaster. Many thanks to both. Birthday greetings to Todd Puffer, who turned a big five on Sept. 25th. He cele-' cele-' braled with many young friends and enjoyed the treats his mother, Connie Puffer, and grandma, Audrey Aud-rey Jones provided. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Banks are happy to announce the arrival of their new granddaughter grand-daughter HeatherMichelle, was born Sept. 20th, and weighed 6 lb. 13 oz. Her j parents are Garth and Donna Banks, of Rangely, Colorado. The maternal grandparents i are Mr. andMrs. WardHold-1 WardHold-1 er, of Hotchkiss, Colo, i Snow Canyon offers some ! fine camping just ask Jeri 1 Lounsbury. She and Mat-i Mat-i thew, Becky and Misty I camped two nights while I daughter, Christine, stayed ! with friends LeGrand and I Joey Fries in Santa Clara. ) Jeri also toured the Pah j Tempe Hot Springs near La ) Verkin, and attended the St. . ) George Temple. They all ! visited the children's grand - ) parents, Everett and Ruth J Lounsbury, and other I friends. ) Norm and Carol Murdock drove over here twice last ) weekend from their home in ) Kanarraville, first to attend j their granddaughter, Suz- j anne's baptism Saturday, and ) again Sunday to attend church j and enjoy a family turkey ) dinner with Mr. and Mrs. i Richard Davis and family. My apologies to Thelma i Gillins. Last week I reported i her recent trip inaccurately, so here it is the right way: i Thelma Gillins spent a week i in Kuna, Idaho, with her daughter's family, Elvin and i Karen Marshall and child- i ren. From there, she spent 1 ten days in Blackfoot, Idaho, i with her two sons' families, ! which included: Dale and , J Phyllis Gillins and family, ! and Kent and Tamara Gillins and family. While in Black - foot, they were joined by Karen and Elvin and two of their children, also Shirlene and Cammie Barnes, Larry and Geraldine Barnes and family, all of Milford, and Marlys and Jim Bohn, of Beaver, for a family reunion. re-union. Mr. andMrs. LovellCrane visited last weekend in Salt Lake with Ileen and Bob Rollins and children, and also had a medical checkup check-up for Maudell. On their way back, they spent the night in Monroe with their daughter, Bonnie Lee, son-in-law, Morris Nielsen, and their children. Mr. and Mrs. Don Wisner and their daughter, Marianne, Mari-anne, made their annual trip to Minden, Nebraska, to see Edie's family. They were gone ten days and stopped in Salt Lake on the way back to see 1 children, Michelle and Vince. The Wisners are moving Marianne to Cedar this week for her second year at SUSC. - Scouting for pine nuts proved fun but fruitless (nut -less) for Mr. and Mrs. Gale Banks and. their son's fam -ily, Gary and Diane and children, Justin and Bryan. They had spent the weekend with the Banks before returning to their home in Cedar. Also visiting from Cedar over the weekend were Jan and Ann Memmot and two children. Jan and Orion did some . iishing Saturday up by Manti. Ann will be taking a Real Estate Course in St. George three days a ' . week while Grandma Nelda tends the children. Rene Hardy's niece, Mildred Mil-dred Peterson, spent the day last week and took Rene's sister, Verda Peterson, back home to Enterprise. James and Rene andDianeMcCulley went to St. George to the temple and to visit James' sister, Maxine Wilson in St. George, and a friend, Leah Murie, in Washington. Max and lone Baxter attended at-tended a steak fry on the Cedar Mountain with all the State Road employees of District Dis-trict 5 on Friday night. Saturday Sat-urday they drove to Capitol Reef Park to camp and tour the park. On Sunday, they drove through the co'orful shades of the Fish Lake area, then to Richfield and on home. |
