Show County Fair Queen contest A queen to reign over the Beaver County Fair on August Aug-ust 10-11-12, will be chosen at a pageant on Thursday, June 22nd, at 7:30 p.m. in the Minersville Ward Cul -tural Hall, according to Queen Committee Chairman Connie Chris Marshall. Young ladies in Beaver County are invited to enter the contest by contacting local lo-cal representatives of the committee. Bonnie Hardy in Milford, Colleen Dotson in Beaver and Connie Marshall in Minersville. Judges will be brought in from out of the county for the event. Girls will be judged on poise, talent, formal and interviews with the judges. It's the first event of the fair, which plans to be bigger big-ger and better than ever. It will be the fourth fair since it was started in 1975. It will utilize the new fair complex as best it can. Other events planned are a barbeque and talent show with special attractions. Mahanna and Jastering will provide an interesting evening even-ing of entertainment along with some local talent. There will also be a pet show, and antique display. Young ladies wishing to enter the queen contest should do so right away by contacting the persons listed above. Besides reigningov-er reigningov-er the fair the queen and each contestant will receive a nice gift. County residents are urged urg-ed to begin now to make plans to enter produce, arts, crafts, home arts and display dis-play their antiques. Cash premiums will be paid for all ribbons. |
