Show points out of a possible 100. Leif is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Condle of Beaver. Beav-er. Ellen Wood's steer placed 2nd with a score of 88.34 and won $50. Ellen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noel Wood of Minersville. Ellen's steer was a Hereford-Angus cross with possibly pos-sibly some Holstein. Kris Soper's steer placed 3rd and won $25. Kris is the son of Mr. and Mrs. JackSoper of Panguitch. Kris's steerwas a Charolaise -Angus cross. Bryan Wood's steer placed 4th with a score of 86 and won $10. Bryan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Wood of M inersville. This was a 100 Hereford steer. Prize money was donated by cattle associations in Beaver, Iron and Washington Washing-ton counties, and various individuals. All winners must grade Choice on the carcass, 50 is based on the carcass, 35 on gain and 15 on live placing. COUNTY STEERS DOMINATE CARCASS TEST Beaver County exhibitors dominated the SteerCarcass Contest of the Southwest Livestock Show held in Cedar Ce-dar City, September 10-11. Carcasses were viewed at the Cedar Packing Plant on September Sep-tember 20th and winners announced an-nounced according to Grant Esplin, ExtensionArea Livestock Live-stock Specialist, Beaver. Leif Condie of Beaver won 1st place and a $100 prize as his 34 Hereford - 14 Semmintol, 1,113-pound steer placed 1st with 89.84 |
