Show COUNTY SELLS $6,812,000 FARM PRODUCTS IN '74 The market value of aU agricultural products sold by the 181 farms in Beaver County in 1974 amounted to $6,812,000, according to a preliminary report of the 1974 Census of Agriculture released today by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of the Census. The figures are for farms qualifying under the definition defini-tion first used for the 1959 Census of Agriculture: Places of less than 10 acres were counted as farms if sales of agricultural products prod-ucts amounted to, or normally norm-ally would amount to, at least $250. Places of 10 acres or more were counted as farms If sales of agricultural products prod-ucts for the year amounted to, or norm ally would amount to, at least $50. Figures for farms with sales of $2,500 or more are shown for 1974 and 1969. These farms accounted for $6 746,000 of all agricultural products sold in 1974 and $3,997,000 in 1969. They numbered 139 in 1974 and 141 in 1969. Their ave-rage ave-rage size decreased from $1,068 to 897 acres during the five years. The value per acre climbed from $96 to $253. |
