Show Roberta Conde Grandpa Fred took all the men to Gandy to look for arrowheads. The girls and I stayed home to fix the food. We finally got hungry and we had just finished eating when Dean Baker called and we went over to see a calf born. Well, our two nurses were sure surprised. No sterile towels or a special room and that poor mother cow. We all survived, the girls, the new baby, mother cowand grandma. grand-ma. Well, Sunday, Fred and I waved a sad goodby to our kids, hoping for a safe return re-turn home and a promise of an early return out here. All the children and adults to church in their new Easter East-er things. The Easter baskets bas-kets with those brightly colored col-ored eggs, and the candy. Little Brandi Corey had a pretty yellow dress that mother mo-ther Donna sent. She helped grandparents, Bud and Gen Richardson, visit with Dee and Thelma Heckathorn who' drove over from Ely for a few hours. Considering today's food prices, "bringing home the bacon" can be quite a status symbol. Gen and Bud Richardson have a small house guest. Granddaughter Brandi Corey is staying for a couple of weeks. There was an excellent band concert over at Esk-dale Esk-dale last Monday. The band was from Logan High School and also the music department depart-ment at Eskdale. The young people were super. Pat and Owen Gonder to Fillmore for Cattlemen's dinner and then to Salt Lake, where they put Mollle and Wayne Gonder In the car Friday Fri-day and brought them home to the valley. Daughter Frona and Ron Huntington and children drove In from Battle Mountain to check on father. Wayne really looks good. Lorene, Pam, Wendl and Jeanne Wheeler all drove over to Cedar City last Tuesday Tues-day and left the men home working. Jim and Darwin doing do-ing chores and Chester was building a green house. They can get an early start on raising a garden. Early Friday, 2 a.m., part of our family arrived from Salt Lake. Karen and Larry Hardwick with three grandchildren grand-children and our youngest daughter, Debra. Then early Saturday the last part arrived. ar-rived. Judl and Gary West and two grandsons. It is so good for all to be together. Easter eggs colored and mess cleaned up. |
