Show of 1.74 and those steers with no implant gained 206.4 or 1.80 lbs. per day. The additional gain of the implanted steers is worth $12.18 per head at 30c per pound. In trials conducted at Norman Laubs in Beryl, steers implanted implant-ed with Stilbesterol showed significant gains. At a trial conducted in Pan-quitch Pan-quitch in the summer of 1971 usi.ng Synovex H on heifers on pasture, implanted steers showed a total difference of gain over non-implanted steers of 23 lbs or .20 hundreths of a lb. per day. STILBESTEROL ADDS POUNDS TO LOCAL STEERS Excellent gains were made by steers on a trial conducted on Yardley Brothers (Roy and Ira) pasture this summer. Steers implanted with 12 mg. of Stilbesterol gained .35 pounds more per day or 40.6 pounds in 11 days more than non -implanted steers. Thirty steers were weighed and identified with neck chain numbers on June 1st. Ten of these steers were implanted with 12 mg. of Stilbesterol, ten were- implanted with Ral-gro Ral-gro a new growth stimulant and ten were used as controls and received no implants. Final weights were taken on Sept. 24. , The steers implanted with Stilbesterol gained 247 lbs for an average daily gain of 2.15. The Ralgro implanted steers gained 200 lbs. a daily average |
