Show LETTER TO THE EDITOR: The citizens of Utah want good government, and rightfully rightful-ly so, both on a local and State level, and now is the time for every individual of voting age to be thinking of how to accomplish accom-plish this. Good government doesn't just happen, but depends de-pends on the character and qualifications of those who are elected to office, and the responsibility re-sponsibility lies with the voting public. When the majority of our voters turn out for general elections only, just a part of the responsibility has been accepted ac-cepted because vital decisions that affect the type of government govern-ment we will have are ofen made long before the final elec-tio.n elec-tio.n day. Utah voters, do you know . . ? how important it is that you take an active interest in your local and State government; govern-ment; how important your vote is in an election; how important it is that you know something about the individuals whose names appear ap-pear on the ballot at election time; .... how important is it that you go to the polls and vote for the individuals of your choice in every election. As an elected official vitally concerned about good government. govern-ment. I urge every one of you to becme concerned too by becoming be-coming involved in the issues that affect your daily lives and your well-being. Golden L. Allen Utah State Treasurer |
