Show SPECIAL MEETING ON SEWER-WATER A special meeting and a public hearing and a landmark (for Milford) decision on development de-velopment of water lines to undeveloped property were the major portion of business last Monday night when Mayor Mayor and three of his council-men council-men met in regular session. Roy Young and Normand Thompson were absent from the meeting. The special meeting will encompass en-compass the preliminary report re-port on Milford's proposed sewer and water systems. Mayor Mayer said, "I'm not at all happy with this preliminary prelim-inary report. They have got to do a better job than this." "I want John R. Call, himself here to answer our questions." The meeting will be to get some answers to questions, presented by the FHA at a special meeting recently. The word is that the lagoon designed design-ed is much larger than needed, and several other technicalities that would raise the cost of the project considerably. The meeting set for Monday August 30 at 7:00 p.m. will be open to the public as is any council meeting. Questions from the floor will be limited in order that the meeting does not run too long. Recorder Nadine Jones reported re-ported that Mr. Lambert from the Dept of Public Service had been in touch, with the city office and that they would set up a public hearing i.n Milford Mil-ford with representatives of the Dept. of Public Service and Continental and Trailways Bus Lines on hand to answer questions concerning setting up a bus schedule through Milford. Mil-ford. The Mayor and Council instructed the Recorder to contact con-tact Mr. Lambert and to proceed pro-ceed with the public hearing. Tentative dates were set for either August 31 or Sept. 13. No confirmation was received at press time. |
