Show COMMISION ADOPTS PROPOSAL ON SKYJACKING The Presidential Commission on the United Nations has adopted adop-ted a proposal advanced by Rep. Sherman P. Lloyd, R - Ut, recommending that the U. N. strengthen international law and cooperation in dealing with air piracy. The Utahn, a member of the commision, said the reccom-mendation reccom-mendation was included in the panel's interim report to President Presi-dent Nixon, which was released by the White Hcuse Sunday. Rep. Lloyd proposed last week that the U. N. impose sanctions against countries harboring har-boring airline hijackers. He said the sanctions should include a suspension of all air service to .any country refusing to take all reasonable steps to prevent air piracy or failing to take action against skyjackers. "I feel that the U. N. could bo very effective in dealing with this problem if given the right kind of cooperation and enforcement powers by member nations," he said. "I hope the President accepts the commission's commis-sion's recommendation and will make this proposal to the U.N. |
