Show MIF-AAT Open House, Banquet Set Wednesday DIGNITARIES TO ATTEND OPEN HOUSE, BANQUET Many people have had a part in bringing about the events that have led up to the presentation presen-tation of the ATT Long Lines building to the Milford Industrial Indus-trial Foundation. It's a feathen in the caps of those local people, who instigated insti-gated the processes which have brought this end, and there are many unsung heros among them. Unfortunately the seats at the head table are few, and not all who deserve recognition recogni-tion will be in them. Heading the list of dignitaries will be Gov. Rampton, whose office has given much time and effort to Operation Bootstrap. The Governor will have the place of honor and be the guest speaker. Mr. R. E. Huber, vice president and general manager of Long Lines New Western Area, will head the list of speak for A.T.T. Mr. Huber of San Francisco, started his career car-eer with the Bell System in 1951. Graduated from Iowa State University, Mr. Huber has a degree in Electrical engineering, engin-eering, and a graduate degree in Industrial management. Mr. Eric C. Aaberg has been with the Bell System since 1928, starting with Mountain Telephone Tele-phone in Colorado. He was appointed ap-pointed General Manager in Utah in 1953 and in 1956, Vice President and General Manager, Manag-er, in charge of Utah operations. opera-tions. One of the hard workers, at A.T.T. , who has spent much time and effort, working with the Milford Industrial Foundation, Founda-tion, Robert T. Ponthieu, joined the Bell System Long Lines division di-vision in Feb. 1954. He was appointed ap-pointed District Plant Manager in Salt Lake, in March, 1968. RAMPTON uted much on the local level. These are the men responsible respon-sible for the A.T.T Long Lines in this area. Without their direction, di-rection, guidance and personal efforts, this milestone for Milford Mil-ford could not have come to this stage. All three will be on hand July 29th to make the formal presentation of the building to the Milford Industrial Indus-trial Foundation. Mr. Alva Kirk, Milford postal pos-tal employee and president of the Milford Industrial Foundation Founda-tion will make the acceptance speech. Alva has been a tireless tire-less worker for Milford, and one of the greatest forces behind be-hind the Milford Industrial Foundation. Others who must be mentioned, men-tioned, and without whose efforts ef-forts the Foundation could never nev-er have attained this achievement, achieve-ment, are: Leah Forrester, who will act as Master of Ceremonies, Gladys Whittaker, membership chairman, Lola Bridges, secretary; secre-tary; Norman Lamb, promotion chairman; Hilda Shields, cleanup clean-up chairman, Evelyn Wiseman, and Sally Rose. Russel Mayer, Joe Jackson, and Jack Davis are on the Board of Directors. |
