Fourteen of the steers graded High Choice, 15 Choice and three Good. Three of the lambs graded Prime and one Choice. Four Hampshire ewes received blue ribbons. Two of the steers, one belonging belong-ing to Gale Eyre and one to Mary Ann Esplin, placed in the top two in this class and were shown in the Grand Champion class. One lamb exhibited by Mary Ann Esplin placed third in the show out of 75 lambs. Bruce Yardley placed second in the Beef Fitting and Showmanship Show-manship contest and Dale Yardley placed third. Good support iwas given the sale on Saturday from Beaver County businessmen, although some who intended to purchase a steer were unable to do so because of a mix-up. Purchasing animals were: Karl Truman, Minersville, seven steers. Karl did a great deal to keep the price of Beaver Beav-er County steers at a higher level. Milford State Bank and Beaver Bea-ver City Bank, two steers each. Jefferson Merc, Milford, two steers. Pryor's Merc, Minersville, one steer. Claude Goodwin's Phillips 66, Beaver, one steer. Carter Brothers Construction Co., two steers. Also purchasing a Beaver County steer directly and several sev-eral others on order for other people was Cedar Packing Company. Karl Truman purchased two steers for Western Rock Co. Ted Rimpau, Milford, purchased pur-chased two lambs. |
