Show 4-H YOUTHS TO ENTER HORSE SHOW The annual Utah 4-H Horse Show will 'be held on a regional region-al basis this year, according to Kay R. Bendixsen, assistant supervisor su-pervisor of 4-H and youth programs, pro-grams, Extension Services, Utah State University. The two shows will be held at the Millard County Fairgrounds Fair-grounds in Fillmore, Tuesday, Aug. 5 ,and the Davis County Fairgropnds, north of Lagoon, Thursday, Aug. 7. Both shows will begin at 9:30 a. m. Five-man teams, each with two alternates, will compete in fitting and showmanship, Western West-ern horsemanship, Western trail 'class, and two timed events poles and barrels ,and in a written examination based on 4-H literature. Competing at Fillmore will be teams from Washington, Beaver, Millard, Juab, Sanpete, Emery and Carbon counties. Emphasis will be placed on team effort this year, Mr. Bendixsen Ben-dixsen said. There will be no individual awards. Trophies, ribbons, certificates, lead ropes and bridle ornaments will be awarded. |
