Show GOV. RAMPTON WILL OPEN SHAKESPEARE PLAYS Governor and Mrs. Calvin L. Rampton will attend Governor's Night activiites and officially open the eighth annual Shakespearean Shakes-pearean Festival Thursday, July 17, it was announced by Dr. Royden C. Braithwaite, president presi-dent of Southern Utah State College and chairman of the Festival board of directors. The occasion will mark the fourth consecutive year that the Ramptons have been honored hon-ored at the Festival premiere. The opening night perform, ance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will follow a special dinner for the Governor and his party, Dr. Braithwaite said. The play is directed by Sabin Epstein, a veteran of five years as a Festival actor and director. Other guests at the Festival opening will be some 150 pilots from across the nation participating partici-pating in a special Discover Utah "fly-in" sponsored by .the Utah Travel Council. Other plays to be presented during the three and a half week Festival are "Othello," and "Love's Labour's Lost," directed by Dr. Brian Hansen, director of theater studies for the Central Midwestern Regional Re-gional Educational Laboratory, and Fred C. Adams, SUSC drama director and founder of the USF. Closing date for the 1969 season is August 9. |
