RULES GIVEN FOR DOG FIELD TRIALS Conducting field trials for hunting dogs is a popular pastime pas-time for upland game bird hunters and dog trainers, and is regulated in nearly all states by the Fish and Game Department. De-partment. Thirty-five states, including Utah, require a special spe-cial permit for field trials. There is no fee in Utah, but written permission must be obtained ob-tained from the Director of the Fish and Game. No hunting license is necessary. Birds used in the meets must be purchased from private sources, tagged for identification, identifica-tion, and released the day of the meet. UTAH DUCK HUNT ON NATIONAL TV Duck hunting on a public march near Great Salt Lake will be featured on national television Sunday, March 2. Filming crews from the "American Sportsman'" series came to Utah during the past season at the invitation of the Fish and Game and the Utah Travel Council. Curt Gowdy, host of the show and popular sportscaster, will be seen with Bobby Richardson, former New York Yankee second baseman, and John Nagel, who is in charge of waterfowl management manage-ment for the Utah Fish and Game. |
