Show FEBRUARY IS BOY SCOUT MONTH; ACTIVITY PLANNED Sponsoring institution banquets, ban-quets, Scout Sundays, Window Displays and Good Turns will highlight Scouting's 59th anniversary an-niversary during February, according ac-cording to Paul Turner, field director for the Utah National Parks Council, Boy Scouts of America. Scout Sunday in the LDS Wards will be celebrated on Feb. 2, with Scout Sunday evening programs to be held in each ward. The program has been outlined toy the Primary Pri-mary and MIA General Boards in Salt Lake. Window displays in the downtown area of each community com-munity will be featured during dur-ing Scout Week, Feb. 7-13. All dens, packs, patrols, troops and posts are urged to enter a display or conduct Scouting demonstrations during the week. Service projects and good turns will also be featured i during the month. Each sponsoring spon-soring institution is planning a Scouting birthday banquet that will include the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorers, parents and leaders, during the month. At the banquet, Scout oriented programs will be featured, awards will be given and the pack, troop and post programs will be reviewed briefly. Many Scouting units will also feature special programs during the month at their weekly meetings. Mr. Turner urged all Scouts to wear their uniforms during Scout Sunday and all week during Scout Week, and to make Scouting's 59th birthday one that long will be remembered. |
