Ilayward Carter SERVICES WILL BE HELD THURSDAY FOR HAYVVARD CARTER Hayward Carter, 88, died Monday, Dec. 30, in the Milford Valley Memorial Hospital of causes incident to age. He was born July 30, 1880, in Minersville, to William Jenkins and Mary E. Lightner Carter. He married Inez Etta Roberts, Oct. 3, 1900, in Minersville. Min-ersville. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church. Mr. Carter was employed in the mines at Frisco at the age of 14, and worked there for 20 years. He also had been a carpenter, a government trapper trap-per and farmer, and had retired re-tired from employment with the Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. and Mrs. Carter observed their 68th wedding anniversary on Oct. 3. He is survived by his widow; the following sons and daughters: daugh-ters: Mrs. Lester (Leona) Roberts, Rob-erts, McMinnviUe, Ore.; Frank W., Mrs. Nettie Myers, Sheral, and Max R., all of IVinersville; Rex M., Beaver; Mrs. Othello (Addie Smith, Whittier, Calif.; Mrs. Chester (Bertha) Cusick, Arcadia, Calif.; and Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph (Lois) Pierson, Las Vegas; Veg-as; also 49 grandchildren, 98 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildrer.; one brother, Horace Carter, Minersville, Miners-ville, and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Young, Salt Lake. Funeral services will bo conducted con-ducted at 1 p. m. Thursday, Jan. 2, in the Minersville LDS Chapel. Friends may call at the home from 6 to 10 p. m. Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 a. m. until time for services. |
