Show UNION PACIFIC GIVES UP TOURIST BUSINESS TO U.S. After nearly 50 years in the tourist business, Union Pacific Railroad has turned over all of its concession properties in four national parks to the United States of America and certain of its properties and facilities at Cedar City and Kanab, Utah, to the National Park Foundation, John C. Kene-fick, Kene-fick, UP president, announced today. The railroad executive said UP will donate to the United States all of the facilities and emiinment owned bv its sub- sidiary, Utah Parks Company, including the lodges, Inns, cabins, cab-ins, service station and curio shop facilities in Zion, Bryce Canyon and Grand Canyon (North Rim) National Parks, and the lodge and cabins in Cedar Breaks National Monument. Monu-ment. In addition, Kenefick said, UP will donate the laundry at Kanab, Utah, certain real property prop-erty at Cedar City, and the bus and automotive fleets used for guided tours of the parks. The donation is valued at more than $2 million. |
