Post Commander C. Norman Baxter announced that all arrangements for the observance have been made and highlight of the gala celebration will be a party, dance and smorgasbord starting at 8 p. m. in St. Bridget's Recreation Rec-reation Hall on Saturday, March 21st. A portion of the observance will be devoted to receiving the , Department Commander, James Yardley of Panguitch, and District Commander Marvin Mar-vin Spendlove of Beaver. Both will extend greetings to the Milford Legionnaires, and Commander Com-mander Yardley will make a brief Birthday Address. Also as a part of the gala birthday observance, the local lo-cal Legion Post is putting the finishing touches on its 19G4 membership campaign. Commander Baxter pointed out that March 31 is the dead line for assigning quotas for Boys State, and these quotas are based upon local Post membership. "Milford tiign School has a list of 10 or 12 qualified Junior Jun-ior students," Commander Baxter Bax-ter said, "and if we don't materially ma-terially increase our membership, member-ship, several of these deserving boys are going to be denied the privilege of attending Utah American Legion Boys State. I sincerely urge all former Legionnaires Le-gionnaires and all eligible veterans vet-erans to 'sign up' now so we can send more of Milford's worthy boys to Boys State." Following the formal ceremonies cere-monies and the address of Commander Yardley, the floor will be cleared for dancing and delicious food spread in smorgasbord smor-gasbord style for all celebrants to enjoy. "This party is not just for Legionnaires or veterans," the post commander said, "and we are inviting all residents of the community to come out and help us celebrate." |
