Show LINCOLN NINE WINS LITTLE LEAGUE TOURNEY Jan Memmott, pitcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oren Memmott, Mem-mott, was the hero of the Milford Mil-ford Little League game Friday, Fri-day, but the local All-Stars were unable to come up with another game-winner in the Saturday finale, and the Lincoln Lin-coln County (Nevada) All-Stars All-Stars notched up a five-run victory to take the district championship and move into the state playoffs at Salt Lako City this week end. Lincoln County went out in front in the opening stanza when Nisson scored on Pal-meri's Pal-meri's bingle after two were out, added two runs in the third, then Milford tied it up in their half of the fourth, but the Nevadans went ahead again in the bottom of the fourth. In the top of the fifth Lincoln County put the game on ice with a four-run splurge, and in the bottom of the fifth Memmott drew a base on balls, worked his way around to third, but Palmeri struck out Wright, Schow and Carter to end the ballgame. The Friday game was a real thriller with Jan Memmott winning his own ballgame. Trailing by two runs going into the third, after one run had crossed the plate Memmott slammed out a three-run homer; hom-er; in the fourth he batted in a run for a 5-2 lead, the St. George Sunsets added a run in the fifth and tied the score in the top of the sixth with two runs. In Milford's half of the sixth Bud Barnes flied out to first, then Jan jumped on the first ball pitched and homered hom-ered over the left field wall to win the ballgame. In the opener Friday, between be-tween Beaver and the Nevada nine, Pendley blasted two grand slam homers, Robert Hosier Ho-sier got a grand slammer, and Paul Riding, another Lincoln Countian, blasted two homers.
