Show LEGION AUXILIARY SENDS COOKIES TO VET HOSPITAL Sixty dozen home made cookies cook-ies were boxed at the American Ameri-can Legion Auxiliary meeting Monday evening, for shipment to the Veterans Hospital at Salt Lake City. Mrs. Patricia Williams conducted the meeting meet-ing at the home of Mrs. Ethel Smith. Mrs. Ardath Outzen presented present-ed an Americanism lesson, assisted as-sisted by Nina Bingham and Emma Smith. Mrs. Alice Baxter was named 1963 Poppy chairman. Lillian Anderson reported on the meeting meet-ing held in Beaver with District Dis-trict and State officers. Membership chairman Lela Gillam reported that the quota of 37 members had been reached reach-ed and the remainder of the year will be devoted to contacting con-tacting new members. Mrs. Ethel Smith reported that night gowns for the Beaver Beav-er County Hospital have been cut out and are ready to be sewn. It was reported that $500 in Defense Stamps have been sold to Elementary School students, stu-dents, and Mrs. Anderson, CD chairman, suggested that the Medical Self - Help program sponsored by the Board of Education Ed-ucation should be brought to Milford. ' Mrs. Outzen advised that the Auxiliary Essay contest is under un-der way in the high school. A large flag for display and marching will be presented by the Auxiliary to local Brownie and Girl Scouts. Lillian Anderson, Judy Briscoe, Bris-coe, Ardath Outzen and Patricia Patri-cia Williams assisted with registrations reg-istrations and clerical work for the Bloodmobile visit to Milford Mil-ford on Wednesday. |
