Show DATES SET FOR GRAIN SIGN-UP The sign-up period for the 1963 crops of corn, barley and wheat will begin Feb. 1 an continue thru March 22, according accord-ing to B. Nowers. chairman o' the Beaver County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee. These voluntary diversion programs are generally the same as the 1962 programs. In order to participate in the feed grain program a farmer must divert not less than 20 of his feed grain base acreage and may divert up to 40 or 25 acres, whichever is larger. In the case of wheat, the same minimum diversion applies however, the maximum participation partici-pation is 50 of the allotment or 10 acres, but not to exceed the allotment. The programs provide for payments to producers pro-ducers who make this diversion diver-sion of cropland normally devoted de-voted to the production of wheat, corn or barley to a specified conserving use. Purposes of the program are to reduce the cost of storing stor-ing surplus stocks of thes: crops; increase farm income; stabilize feed costs; and assure fair and stable prices to consumers con-sumers .
