Show BYU President Addresses Beaver County Republicans Beaver County Republicans enjoyed a delicious banquet at Minersville, Friday, March 23, which the ladies of the American Legion Auxiliary prepared pre-pared and served in a very delightful manner. Tables were decorated with streamers of gold md green to harmonize harmon-ize with the attractive centerpieces center-pieces of yellow daffodils and pussywillows with their touch of green. Guest speaker for the evening even-ing was Dr. Ernest L. Wilkia-sen Wilkia-sen of the Brigham Young University. Uni-versity. He began his speech with the remark that he wanted want-ed to talk as a regular American Ameri-can citizen and not as the President of the B. Y. U. For over an hour he held the rapt attention of every member there. Two songs were sung by David Williams. Larry Call also sang two numbers. On invitation, the au-diance au-diance joined in singing one verse and chorus. Earl Smith, county chairman, conducted the meeting. Karl Truman was master of ceremonies. |
