Show Waterfowl Shoot "Fair" Says Fish, Game Men Utah's waterfowl hunting was listed as "fair" by the department depart-ment of fish and game as the season went into the second month following the October 14 opening. An increasing number of birds are showing up in the State as colder weather sets in. Filed reports re-ports tell of some good bag returns re-turns from the Clear Lake, Sevier Sev-ier River and Bicknell Bottom areas. Whistling swan are now present pre-sent in increased numbers on the marshes and hunters were reminded that these big birds are protected by both State and Federal law. The 1961 waterfowl hunt closes clos-es Dec. 27, with daily shooting hours of one-half hour before sunrise to sunset. Numbers of arrests are made each year for shooting early or late and the changing hours through the season sea-son should be checked closely by hunters before going afield. The shooting time table and all other regulations covering the waterfowl season are shown : in the 1961 proclamation for this hunt. |
