Show 9 jbunno, Hul 9 oheaia By STEVE WILLIAMS Had a little discussion about the United Nations the other day, and exprsesed our opinion that we aren't "fer it." We aren't, in its present form, since we feel that the "enforcement division" that helps put out brush fires and forestalls threatened wars doesn' have the "teeth" it should have to be fully effective. But we woudln't want anyone to feel that we side with Krying Krushchev in his insistence that it be renovated along lines to j suit him, or that it be abolished, or that the headquarters be moved from the U S (as long as we're doing most of the financing we'd just as well keep the buildings, build-ings, at least, at home). The United Nations, in our opinion, falls quite a bit short of the dream that peaceful-minded folks had when it was organized . . . but it should be supported by all civilized nations, and all people should continue to work for its improvement. It isn't all we'd like it to be, . but it is the best we can do "" right now. 1 And Mr. Krushchev ain't seen no hornet's nest like he's asking for, and will get, if he doesn't change his tune. Don't forget to get a supply of nickels, pennies and dimes for the Halloween UNICEFers who will knock at your door Monday evening. In the story on page one by Mrs. Virginia Davis is a list of what the pennies pen-nies will buy. Be ready for the kids . . . with your coins for their UNICEF milk cartons car-tons (and at our house Patfll probably have a few treats ready for the UNICEFers too). He says he wasn't lost, but they went looking for him anyway. any-way. Young Pat Morford didn't return re-turn from his deer hunt Tuesday evening so about 11 p. m. they blew the siren, rounded up a search party and went looking for him in the Minerals. But Pat was in town by the time the searchers left ... he had a flat tire and came in on the rim. Don Brooks, "dead fish" editor of the Trib, was wishin' he was back on a dead-fish beat before - 1 he got through with his deer-hunt deer-hunt jaunt to Pine Valley Tuesday Tues-day and Wednesday with the Fish and Game Bowns (Casey and our Bud), the Boltons (Wes and Doug), Chuck Atkin, Al Bealer, and a few others. Don quit hunting a few years ago when he cleaned and dressed three prime bucks, carefully packaged pack-aged the choice meat and took it all up to the Trib editorial room to pass out to his pals. Three days later, following his nose, he located several packages in bottom desk drawers, getting "stronger" by the day, and swore to do all his future deer hunting with a camera. Don says Chuck Atkin can "really herd a jeep," but he'll never again herd one with the dead fish editor as passenger. But the worst of the inconsiderate inconsid-erate acts of the Beaver County sportsmen was when they "used up" a?l his refreshments before leaving for town, and Don was all alone in the wilds with no spiritual solace for a whole day. It's that time of year again . . . along with the red shirts and red hats and enthusiasm of the buckskin buck-skin chase and getting out in the outdoors and a lot of us office-bound office-bound old fogeys getting a chance to pump our lungs full of fresh air, goes the season of picking up deer legs and horns and hides and odorous ribs off the lawn after the dogs get through worrying worry-ing with 'em.
