Show ; - Deseret Sets Dates for 'Days of Old West' The Days of the Old West, annual celebration at Deseret, will highlight Friday and Saturday, Satur-day, Aug. 19 and '20, at Deseret Fairgrounds, with daytime fair, 4-H fair, flower show, and big night professional rodeo. Children's Chil-dren's sports will be featured, and a special program Saturday at 10:30 a. m. will honor the pioneers who came to settle the " Deseret area just 100 years ago. The rodeo plays both nights, with the grand entry scheduled at 8 p.. m. Swanee Kirby is again furnishing the rodeo stock and riders from thruout the in-termountain in-termountain area will compete. The most unusual and special attraction of the celebration this year will be a 25-mile relay race win 100 horses, starting at 6 p. m. Friday in front of the fairgrounds. This event is sponsored spon-sored by the West Millard Riding Rid-ing Club, and a special invitation invita-tion has been extended the Ranch Canyon Riders to enter 25 horses. The big parade is scheduled for 5:30 p. m. Saturday, under direction of the Kiwanis Club of Delta and West Millard. Floats, bands, comics and riders will be starred. |
