Show County Board of Health Holds Initial Meeting The newly organized Beaver County Board of Health met for the first time Saturday in the Beaver Bea-ver County courhouse. Present for this first meetine were H I. Tnl. . ey, Milford, chairman of the Board of County Commissioners; Howard Pryor, county commissioner from Minersville;' Ray Easton, county commissioner from Beaver; Ernest Joseph, Beaver City Council; A. Carlos Murdock, Beaver County Board of Education; and Dr. W. D. Bishop, Beaver, director, Beaver County Board of Health. Donald West of Cedar City, consultant con-sultant sanitarian of the Utah State Board of Health, was a guest speaker speak-er at the meeting. He went into the matter of sanitation as it affects the health, well-being, and economics econ-omics of a community or county. He stressed the importance of builders and contractors availing of state regulations pertaining to businesses that deal with the general gen-eral public, both local and transient. tran-sient. This includes motels, hotels, swimming and wading pools, eating eat-ing establishments, water supply, sewage disposal, trailer courts, camp grounds, and itinerant eating places, such as would be found in connection with carnivals, race meets, county fairs, etc. He further cautioned the Board of heath members about cheap and faulty construction of facilities, since such construction may cost the owners more to maintain and meet standards than if it were done properly in the first place. The next meeting of the County Board of Health is planned for March 26 at Milford, at which time there will be a discussion of the most pertinent regulations to be adopted by the county. mi . .... a ne general ieeung oi tnis tirst meeting was the desire of the board for cooperation from Beaver cfounty citizens to abide by regulations regula-tions that will be adopted for their protection, health, and well-being; all of which must be at least as stringent as the Utah State Department Depart-ment of Heatlh demands. |
