EMILY GILLINS - FORMER MINERSVILLE BOY WEDS MICHIGAN GIRL In a ceremony performed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November Novem-ber 20, Miss Dorothy Lorraine Bennett Ben-nett of Flint, Michigan, became the bride of Irvin Eyre jr., according accord-ing to a clipping from a Las Vegas paper. Mr. Eyre is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin W. Eyre of Lansing, Michigan, former Minersville residents. resi-dents. Following the ceremony, a formal for-mal dinner honoring the newly-weds newly-weds was attended by members of the James Eyre family at the Zenith Zen-ith Avenue home of Mr. and Mrs. David Bradley. Mrs. Bradley is the former Thurma Eyre. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Eyre, Mr. and Mrs. Hartley Eyre of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin. Eyre and daughters, Susan, Jill, and Kathryn of Orem, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith and Miss Elaine Eyre of Las Vegas; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Eyre, Logan; and Mrs. Elmira Eyre, mother of the bridegroom, Lansing, Michigan. The newlyweds will make their home in Seattle, Wash., where the ' bridegroom is an engineer employed em-ployed in the development of missiles. mis-siles. He is a graduate of Michigan Michi-gan State University and has served serv-ed two years in Germany with the United States Army. ENLISTS IN NAVY Kenneth Gressman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Gressman, entered Ft. Douglas reception center Monday Mon-day morning, to be flown to San Diego Naval Station that afternoon to begin a four-year enlistment in naval aviation. Kenneth is a 1959 graduate of Beaver High school. Mayor and Mrs. Milton Albrecht and family were in Salt Lake City Wednesday evening of last week to attend the wedding of Mayor Al-brecht's Al-brecht's sister, Mrs. Elaine- Albrecht Al-brecht Ryan, to Rex Hunt of that city, Mr. Albrecht doing best man duties. The small Albrecht children chil-dren were delighted with front-row seats, absorbing every detail of the lovely wedding, performed at the home of Mr. and Mrs.Charles Hoffman. Hoff-man. Also in attendance at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Albrecht of Ferron. On Thanksgiving Thanks-giving day, all were invited to din- I ner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. I Verne Albrecht. ' Pinochle club members were entertained en-tertained at the home of Mrs. Car-la Car-la Eyre last week, with prizes being won toy Mrs. Lois Carter, Mrs. Merle Gillins, and Mrs. Bonnie Gray. At the last Literary club meeting, meet-ing, Mrs. Phyllis Truman gave a report on their vacation trip to Mexico, taken last summer. She also showed entertaining movie films of that country. Mrs. Lyn-nea Lyn-nea Marshall, hostess, served a delightful de-lightful dessert and nut-cups. Mrs. Gladys Myers spent the holidav in Las Angeles with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Smith, culminating a week'svacation in California. Mr. Mvers enioved dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Carter in Beaver. Bea-ver. Mrs. Aletha Gillins was afforded a harpy surprise last week when a girlhood friend whom she hadn't seen in 35 years called on her. Mrs. Gillins didn't recognize Mrs. Ella Rhea of Circleville at first, but, when identificaton had been established, es-tablished, the afternoon was joyously joy-ously spent recalling many happy incidents. Mrs. Arline Carter was rushed to the Iron County hospital last week, suffering complications following child-birth. She is at home again now, under the care of her mother, Mrs. Jim Morgan. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Blackburn and Irma Jean departed December 4 for Denver, Colo., for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Christensen and family in Pueblo and with Mr. and Mrs. Russel Muir and children chil-dren in Denver. They will be gone ten days. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Jameson were in California for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiv-ing. Primary purpose of the trip, however, was to attend the Los Angeles An-geles LDS Temple marriage of their son and his bride, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Jameson. Vic is stationed sta-tioned at the Santa Maria Army base. Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Gillins and Karl, along with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mathews, were guests for the holiday in the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Gillins. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Adams of Cedar Ce-dar City invited Mr. and Mrs. Billy Davis and son to share their turkey dinner. Mrs. Eulalia Davis was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Garold Eyre, Kendal Ken-dal and Laurie, were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Murdock in Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. William Wood were happy to have their sons, wives, and families, also grandmother Nancy Zaugg of Morgan and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Brimberry of Mil-ford. Mil-ford. Mrs. Zaugg departed for her home Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Marshall were joined on Thanksgiving day by Mr. and Mrs. Don Marshall and family of Cedar City and Mrs. Stan-nie Stan-nie Myers and children of Beaver. Guest of honor was grandfather George C. Marshall. Mr. and Mrs. Mart Davis and Evelyn and Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Marshall were in Trona, Calif., with parents Mr. and Mrs. Horace Cor-bridge. Cor-bridge. The occasion was a special one at which all members of the family were expected to be present except Clarence Corbridge, who was unable to be there. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Robinson were in Tooele to spend the holiday holi-day with Mrs. Roldo Robinson and family. Mrs.' Lucy Williams was hostess to Max Carter and children and her son, Frank Williams of Tooele. Too-ele. Frank has a teaching position at that address. Mrs. Carter has been a patient at the Milford hospital, hos-pital, suffering from dehydration following a recent operation. Bishop and Mrs. Marshall Hol-lingshead Hol-lingshead attended a regional Welfare Wel-fare meeting in St. George Saturday. Satur-day. Accompanying them, as a substitute for Relief Society President Presi-dent Nettie Myers, was her counselor, coun-selor, Mrs. Beulah Wood. Ralph Pearson also was present. Mrs. Kent Terry and family of Logan visited Saturday with Mrs. Eulalia Davis and with a sister in Milford. Thanksgiving Dinners: At the Mark Dotson home near Milford were Mr. and Mrs. William Willden and Mrs. Robt. Church of Beaver and Mrs. Billie Robinson and two children of Minersville. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wood had their chillren, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Hollingshead and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Wood and their children. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Heslington were in Hollywood, Calif., with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Heslington and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Heslington. With the Harold Baker family were Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Baker, Salt Lake City, and the family of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Baker, Beaver; also Miss Phyllis Baker, Salt Lake City, and her friend. At the Sim Murdock home were Mr. and Mrs. Mac Armstrong and two children of Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Boyter. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Murdock were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Smith in Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Arlen Carter and family, along with Mrs. Edith Bradfield, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Carter were dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Mae Atkin. With the Howard Marshall family fam-ily were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Ty Gillins, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Blackner, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gillins, and Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Carter spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pehrson in Adams-ville. Adams-ville. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pryor, David, Joan, and Gay, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pryor were in Henderson, Hender-son, Nev., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Pryor. At the Frank Decker home in Parowan were Mr. and Mrs. Horace Carter and grandchildren, Scott Carter and Nedra and Mike Carter. Car-ter. At the present time, Mr. and Mrs. Carter are in California on business. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Carter had Mr. and Mrs. Dick Davis and Kathy, Dickie, and Darrell of Richfield as dinner guests. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Craw were hosts to parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Craw and Mr. and Mrs. Cy Willyard of Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Craw spent the day in Beaver at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Davis and family were in Caliente, Nev., guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Mathews. Math-ews. Their daughter Danean, who is employed in Caliente and resides at the Mathews home, also was present. Mrs. Alta Kelsey was in Salt Lake City with her daughter, Ken-na Ken-na Lou, and they planned to spend the day with Mr. Kelsey. Mr. and Mrs. Daisel Davis were hosts to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Davis, Sheral Davis, and Mrs. Chloe Davis. Daughter Shirleen, employed at the telephone office in Cedar City, also was present. Mr. and Mrs. Arshel Evans and family were in St. George, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Dotson and family spent the holiday and the week-end in Salt Lake City with the parents of Mrs. Dotson. Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Edwards and Bobby were at the home of Mr. Mrs. Keith Warby in Beaver. The Rulon Eyre home was the gathering place for Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bowcutt and Colleen of Elko, El-ko, Nev.; also for Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Ger-ald Eyre and Mrs. Alba Gillins. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Eyre enjoyed the first Thanksgiving in their new home with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Eyre, Gayle, Madalyn, and Calvin. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Walker of j Milford had as their guests Mr. ! and Mrs. Dalton Fails and Mrs. Marie Ma-rie Rollins. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Gillins and family were guests at the home of Mrs. Edna Crosby in Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Jule Gillins, along with Mr. and Mrs Harold Gillins and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gilins of Kearns, spent the day in Midvale at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Clif-ford Terry.
