Show Items of Interest About People You Know in Milford THURSDAY NIGHT CLUB The Thursday Night Club met at the home of Mrs. Nettie Kirk. Members playing bridge included Mrs. V. L. Boucher, Mrs. Powell Smyth, Mrs. E. L. Smith, Mrs. Sam Cline, Mrs. John Weton Mrs. J. R. Murdock and an invited guest, Mrs. F. L. Bingham. Prizes were received toy Mrs. Cline, Mrs. West-.n and Mrs. Bingham. AUXILIARY MEETS The American Legion Auxiliary met last Monday evening at St. Bridget's recreation hall with the president, Mrs. Lillian Anderson, conducting the business meeting. Mrs. Marjorie Mecham and Mit-chill Mit-chill Fisher presented a film showing show-ing victims of polio, arthritis, birth defects and virus diseases. Mrs. Letha Smith discussed the American Legion's legislative program pro-gram for 1959. Refreshments were served by hostesses Mrs. Magdalena White, and Mrs. Laura Lorentz. Other members attending were Mrs. Metta Weston, Mrs. Ethel Smith, Mrs. Pat Stewart, Mrs. Judy Briscoe, Bris-coe, Mrs. Patricia Williams and Mrs. Dorothy Grimshaw. UTAHNA LODGE MEETS Utahna Lodge held their regular regu-lar meeting and social Friday evening eve-ning in the IOOF hall. Members present were Winnie Johnson, Magdalena White, Afton Nielson, Merlin Merryweather, Phyllis Erickson, Lillian Fother-ingham, Fother-ingham, Christy Lyman, Maude Mills, Alma Sly, Eva Banks, Marjorie Mar-jorie Harton, Maurine Miller Pat Johnson and Lorelie Dawson of Salt Lake. During the evening newly installed in-stalled President Phyllis Erickson presented the outgoing president, Afton Nielson, with a lovely gift from the lodge. Rerf reshments were served by Enid Cook, Serelda Fern-ley Fern-ley and Margaret Lund. At bridge, prize winners were Maude Mills, Marjorie Harton and Christie Lyman. Pinochle winners were Winnie Johnson, Lorelie Dawson Daw-son and Eva Banks. HONORED AT SHOWER A bridal shower honoreing the new Mrs. Ted Lokey was held Wednesday, Jan. 14. in St. Bridget's Brid-get's recreation hall. Hostesses were Mrs. Maurine Miller Mrs. Rae Larson and Mrs. Marjorie Harton. Bingo was played for entertainment, entertain-ment, after which refreshments were served. ENTERTAINS CLUB Tuesday evening, Jan. 20, Margaret Mar-garet Lund entertained her club. Pinochle was played, with Hilda Shields, Dorothy Morris and Lois Moore winning the prizes. Others present were Virginia Fowles, Mary McCulley, Marion Miller Charlotte Wise and Cleo Labrum. Refreshments were served late in the evening. LADYTRAINMEN MEET The Lady Trainment met Jan. 20 in the IOOF hall for their regular monthly business meeting. The new officers, presiding over their first meeting, are Mrs. Marjorie Mar-jorie Mecham, president; Mrs. Verna Tomsik, vice president; Mrs. Pat Nelson, secretary; Mrs. Joan Holland, treasurer; Mrs. Helen Leech, conductress; Mrs. Vera Price, warden; Mrs. Bobbie James, chaplain; Mrs. Patsy Smith, inside guardian and Mrs. Dora Walker, outside guardian. Mrs. Virginia Bedingfield is outgoing president ENTERTAINS 500 CLUB Five Hundred was played at the home of Mrs. Lucy Reese by members mem-bers of her club, Mrs. Helen Leech, Mrs. Lillian Atkin, Mrs. Verna Tomsik, Mrs. Neva Kinross, Mrs. Emma Griffiths and Mrs. Olive Root. Prizes were received by Mrs. Griffiths, Mrs. Root and Mrs. Leech. HOSTS BRIDGE CLUB Mrs. Lela Rowley was hostess last Wednesday evening to her bridge club. Prize winners were Dorothy Morris, Phyllis Keetch and Cleo Labrum. Other players included Mi-s. Lola Banks, Mrs. Faye Berger, Mrs. Beulah Wunderlich and Mrs. Fern Burbidge. Before the game of cards Mrs. Rowley served a hot casserole dinner. |
