A 2c John Killam is home on furlough. He has been stationed at Tucson, Ariz., and on Aug. 25 will be transferred to Alabama, where he will attend a specialist training school. Mrs. Helen Wellington of f'rovo plans to spend this coming com-ing week end in Milford with her father, Doug Fothering-ham, Fothering-ham, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Long ha.ve purchased and are remodeling re-modeling the home at 106 No Main formerly occupied by Mr. and Mrs.' Ed Leech.. The Longs plan to move into their new location Oct. 1st. Keith Long left Wednesday for a business trip to St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. Walter Griffiths and children of Van Nuys, Calif., are in Milford visitng her father, Doug Fotheringham. Mr. Griffiths will join his wife and together they will call on relatives and friends in Reaver County. Judy and Maud Whittaker have been in Salt Lake visiting visit-ing relatives. Their father, Bud Whittaker, was in Salt Lake Tuesday to return his children to Milford. Jerry Anderson of Ephraim will replace Homer Christen-scn Christen-scn as Milford L D S Seminary Semi-nary teacher, and is expected to arrive, with his wife and baby, this week end. They plan to live in the Christen-sen's Christen-sen's home. Last week Mr. and Mrs. Dan Gillies and children of Pocatello were in Milford visiting vis-iting relatives and frineds. They were guests of Mr. Gillie's Gil-lie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cline, and also spent a week of their vacation at Navajo Na-vajo Lake. MR. .AND MRS. ROY LA-v LA-v BRUM announce the engage- ment and approaching marriage mar-riage of their daughter, Kaye, to Mr .Leslie D. Gray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Gray of Minersville. The wedding will take place in Milford Sept. 6, after which the couple will be feted at a reception in the Milford L D S Recreation Hall. George Mayer was released from the Beaver County Hospital, Hos-pital, this week. A GET-TOGETHER was enjoyed Tuesday evening at American Legion Tark, in honor of John Killam. Families attending included those of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Beard, Mr. and Mrs. Walter McCulley, and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Killam, and Mrs. Eva Beard, and Mrs. Ethel Killam. Dr. David A. Symond and son Michael are in Wisconsin for a two week visit with Dr. Symond's father. MR. AND AIRS. JOHN R. SALMOND announce the engagement en-gagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Beth, to Mr. Larry C. Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar C. Edwards of Milford. An L D S Temple wedding wed-ding has been set for Aug. 26. The bride to be is a graduate gradu-ate of Brigham Young University, Uni-versity, and has filled an L D S mission in Canada. She has also been active in 4-H work. Mr. Edwards has completed complet-ed a mission in the L D S Northern States mission. He has attended Brigham Young University after completing the course of study at Milford High School. Larry Nelson and Wayne Neptune of Long Beach are visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Tribole and also enjoying the Beaver Mountains in the Tribole Trib-ole trailer home. ? Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ward and children are now living in Lone Pine, Calif., where Mr. Ward has been transferred transfer-red as Seventh-day Adventist Pastor. Mr. Ward was in Milford as Seventh-day Adventist Ad-ventist pastor for two years. Mr. Ward's replacement will arrive in Milford next week. Mr. and Mrs. John Williams Wil-liams of Salt Lake recently were at Puffer's Lake with Mrs. Williams' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Larson. Mr, and Mrs. J. M. Hughes spent a week at Trenton, N. J., with their son in law and daughter, Lt. Col. and Mrs. C. M. Johnson and children. Mrs. Jeannie Young plans to return to Denver after spending the summear in Milford. Mil-ford. Jeannie's mother, Mrs. Don Young, will accompany her to Denver for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Vance Roberts Rob-erts enjoyed last Sunday at a Salt Lake resort. |
