Mrs. Alice Smith. 9 Mrs. Hattie Ashworth was a patient pa-tient at the Iron County Hospital two days last week, but was released re-leased and is back to the Rest Home in Parowan. S Mrs. Sarah Mackerell spent the weekend in Salt Lake City visiting visit-ing with her son Tim, who is employed em-ployed there. Murdock will remain with his son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Murdock, Mur-dock, in Cedar City, after his release re-lease from the hospital. Mrs. Elizabeth Fotheringham. who has been living in Monterey, Cal., visited with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Har-ley Har-ley Fotho.'ingham, for a few days last week. She was accompanied by her daughter, Jenny Lester and a son Arch. On Monday they took Mrs. Fotheringham to Parowan, i where she will make her home. Mrs. Fotheringhom would like to have- her friends in Beaver visit with her in Parowan whenever possible. The retirement of Chesley Barton, Bar-ton, 72, as Chief Bank examiner was announced Tuesday by S. H. Young. Mr. Barton has been connected con-nected with banking concerns of the State for 52 years. He was bom March 27th, 1SS5, in Greenville, and began his banking career at the age of 20, when he became assistant cashier of the Milford ; State Bank. He also worked in the Beaver bank for a year before go- Mrs. Sonja H. Dean left Wednesday Wed-nesday to join her husband, Don, who is in the army in Washington. Washing-ton. She was accompanied by Don's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dean. They planned to stay overnight over-night in Provo visiting with another an-other son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dean. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas McMullin and children spent the weekend in Eeaver with his mother, Ruby McMullin. Mc-Mullin. O Mr. and Mrs. Howard Low spent the weekend in Beaver visiting with friends. Kirkman, Mr. and Mrs. William Cartwright, all of Beaver; Mrs. Marie Keener, Garden Gar-den Grove, Calif; and Mr. Earl Gillies and son Clark, of Bell, Cal. 9 Mr. and Mrs. John Ashworth spent some time this week visiting visit-ing with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Roper, in Oak City, and also with the Roper's children in Delta and Lynndyl. Mrs. Wallace D. Yardley is leaving leav-ing this Week for Logan, where she will meet her daughter, Jolene. They will then board the train for Cambridge, Mass. .where they will meet Mrs. Yardley's son, Gilbert, who has been on a mission for the LDS church and will be released June 3rd. Gilbert is at present on a conference con-ference tour in the New England Mission with President Antone R. Ivins of the LDS Church General Authorities. Horton spent Monday in Provo, attending the funeral services for their grandson. grand-son. 9 Mrs. Lydia Patterson is visiting with her children in Salt Lake City Cor some time. Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Thomas were in Milford Saturday to visit with their children and also attend the 49'er celebration . 9 Mr. and Mrs. A. Leon Smith spent Saturday at Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Blackner have gone to California to spend several days. 9 Mrs. Caroline Smith suffered an injury Friday night as she was coming out of the First Third Ward Church. She has a cracked ankle bone and will have to remain in a cast for some time However, she is able to get about on crutches and will remain at her home. Mrs. George Terry is staying at the home of her son, Andrew, after suffering several" 'broken ribs Saturday-evening, in a fall at her home. Mrs. Flora Edwards returned home Tuesday after spending several sev-eral days in Milford and Salt Lake City. In Milford she stayed with her daughter, Alma Sly, who also accompanied her to Salt Lake. Mrs. Alta Paice accompanied two of her sisters, Charlene and Norma Hoskins ,of Mercury, Nevada, to Wellsville this week .They will attend at-tend the graduation rites of another an-other sister, Bertha, on Friday. |
