Show MILFORD Soolety - Clubs . - A BIRTHDAY DINNER honoring hon-oring Mrs. Josephine Thompson Thomp-son on her 74th anniversary was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schramm on Sunday, Sun-day, May J9th. I Guests included Mrs. Thompson's Thomp-son's grandson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Darryl Schramm and daughter Lori of Salt Lake, and another grandson, Larry Bent-ley, Bent-ley, who lives with Mrs. Thompson. Thomp-son. MRS. HILDA CLEAR Y and Mrs. Dorothy Brimberry entertained enter-tained members of the Ella Stancliff Past Noble Grands Club in the I O O F hall on Wednesday, May 22. A fruit salad course and coffee cof-fee were served by the hostesses assisted by Mrs. Jennie Martin Mar-tin and Mrs. Nelouise Schow. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Iola Carter, club president. Fifteen members were present pres-ent to enjoy the evening. Lynne Bracken has accepted employment ' with an optical company in Salt Lake. MRS. VERNETA McKNIGHT entertained the 500 Club Monday Mon-day night. Prizes were won by Mrs. Sofa Johnson, Mrs. Iola Carter and Mrs. Laura Lo-rentz. Lo-rentz. Other members present were Mrs. LaVern Bunker, Mrs. Essie Thompson, Mrs. Elva Sedgwick and an invited guest, Mrs. J. H. Vernon. After cards, refreshments were served. Mrs. Ursula Kesler, her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kesler, of Walnut Creek, Calif., are visiting Mrs. Kesler's brother and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Smith-son. Smith-son. Also guests at the Smith-son Smith-son ranch are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Forgie of Los Angeles. Mrs. Bessie Snyder of Huntington Hunt-ington Park, Calif.; Mrs. Alice Alley of Coldwater, Kansas, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cottrell of Provo are guests this week at the Walter Cook home. Mrs. Mary Kinsey of San Francisco spent several days last week with her mother, Mrs. W. G. White. WEDDING VOWS were exchanged ex-changed in an impressive wedding wed-ding ceremony on Thursday, May 16th, by Miss Norma Reese and Mr. John O'Bosky, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. David C. Reese. Mr. O'Bosky is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. O'Bosky of Manhattan Beach, Calif. Carlyle Gronning officiated at the ceremony. The newlyweds were honored hon-ored at an open house in the recreation hall of the Milford L D S Church. For the occasion occa-sion the bride donned a four-tiered four-tiered net gown trimmed with nylon lace, with matching bolero. bo-lero. A jewel encrusted- tiara released her fingertip veil of illusion. Red roses and white carnations made up the bridal bouquet. Attending the bride was her sister, Mrs. Sheldon Albrecht. She was dressed in a white sheath dress and her corsage was of pink carnatons. The flower girls were twin daughters daugh-ters of Mr. and Mrs. Albrecht, Janyce and Joyce. j Mrs.- Reese chose a medium i blue sheath dress with bolera for the occasion, and her corsage cor-sage was of red roses and white carnations. Mr. Albrecht acted as best man. In the receiving line at the open house were the bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. Reese, and Mr. and Mrs. Albrecht. Soft music was played by Mrs. Ted Myers, and vocal solos were by Lamar Lund, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. E. L. Smith; Mrs. Richard Fisher, accompanied accompa-nied by Mrs. Max Mecham, and Mrs. Glen Rollins, accompanied by Mrs. Harold Edwards. The newlyweds left for Sun Valley, Idaho, for their wedding wed-ding trip, and will make their home in Inglewood, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Wads-worth Wads-worth and Mr. and Mrs. Heber Myers were in Cedar City last Thursday attending high school graduation exercises. A nephew, neph-ew, Douglas Bowler, was among the graduates. The Wadsworths remained for a longer stay with their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holmes, and Mr. and Mrs. Myers returned re-turned the same night. Recent vlstors at the home of the Ray Kizers were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Taylor of Salt Lake; Mayor and Mrs. C. R. Gottfred-son Gottfred-son of Circleville, and a brother broth-er of Mayor Kizer,, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Kizer and daughters Kristie and Lou Ann of Lay-ton. Lay-ton. Mrs. Walter McCulley and two children, Susan and George, will leave Saturday for Cedar City where they will live in the college dormitory while Mrs. McCulley attends summer school for six weeks. Susan plans to further her music training while there. Parents of Mrs. DelRoy Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Waters, Wat-ers, and children Mary and Robert spent a few days in Milford at the Jones home. a Former Milford resioents attending at-tending the B of L F & E and Ladies" Society Union meeting last week end- included Mrs. Vera Waite, Mrs. Noma Brad-shaw Brad-shaw and Mrs. Beryl Crum of Provp; Mrs. Lorelie Dawson, Mrs. LaRee Moore of- Salt Lake, and Mrs,. Ruth Lish of Bountiful. e Dick Bolton will leave Saturday Satur-day for Los Ang'.:lcj, where he will be employed this summer. He plans to attend B Y U this fall. Susan Williams has been employed to replace Mr. Bolton at the J. C. Penney store. j Mr. and Mrs. Horace Carter ' of Muroc, Calif., are spending their vacation in Beaver County. Coun-ty. In Milford they are house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Carter. A three week visit in Milford was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Berger, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Long. Side trips by the group were taken to Ruth, Nev.; Zion Canyon and Bryce National Park. |
